• At 18, became the youngest player in Olympic history to win a medal. In the 1976 Women's Olympic Basketball Team that won a silver in Montreal.

• She also became the first woman to be inducted into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame.
• Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 1996.
• A newly created national athletic award honoring the top collegiate point-guard in women's basketball, was named in honor of Nancy Lieberman by the Rotary Club of Detriot. All proceeds from the award will be donated to the American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division and used towards fighting cancer throughout metro-Detriot.
• Women's Sports Foundation president 1999-2000.
